People have told us you were a legend, a truly funny man, a great friend, a gentleman – and probably some other things too – but to us you were our Dad, the one and only. You taught us that laughter is the best medicine. You showed us how to be strong, but with compassion and understanding too.

You were the head of the family, a rock that we all leant on at times and no matter what you were going through, you were always there for us. You relished being a Grandad and we saw it soften you over the years as our families grew. When people tell us we are like you - each in our different ways - it is truly the best compliment we could be given.

We will miss you more than you know but we will do our best to carry on, looking after each other and Mum just as you would want us to.
